　　ISTA 3A

　　The ISTA3A test procedure is a test procedure for a comprehensive simulation of a single package shipped as a package. Suitable for packages with a mass not more than 70Kg(150lb) for transport by parcel. According to the size and quality of the package, the program divides the package into four types: standard package, small package, flat package and strip package. Different types of packaging test procedures can vary.

　　Small package: the volume is less than 13000cm3(800in3), the large and long edge is less than 350mm(14in), and the mass is less than 4.5kg(10lb).

　　Flat package: small short edge not more than 200mm(8in), sub-short edge not less than 4 times of small short edge, volume not less than 13000cm3(800in3).

　　Strip type package: it can meet the requirement of not less than 900mm(36in) for large and long edges, and the other two axial edges shall not be more than 20% of the large and long edges. Both flat type and long - strip type packaging, according to the long - strip packaging testing procedures.

　　Standard package: any package that does not belong to small, flat or strip type is called standard package.

　　ISTA3A test procedure includes temperature and humidity pretreatment, temperature and humidity treatment, shock, random vibration and leakage.

　　Temperature and humidity pretreatment: the transportation unit is placed in the laboratory temperature and humidity environment for 12 hours to achieve the temperature and humidity balance between the transportation unit and the laboratory.

　　Temperature and humidity treatment: select appropriate temperature and humidity conditions to adjust according to the logistics environment and product characteristics. This is optional.

　　Impact: impact includes free fall, concentrated impact, falling of rotating edges, tilting, and bridge impact, among which falling and tilting of rotating edges are only used for flat and strip type packaging, concentrated impact is only used for flat type packaging, and bridge impact is only used for strip type packaging.

　　Leakage: this experiment focuses on liquid packaging and considers the seal integrity of packaging.
