　　ISTA procedure 3 series

　　The ISTA 3 series is a general integrated simulation performance test program that is a laboratory simulation of a wide range of logistics and transportation processes, including the sequential effects of environment, drop, pressure, vibration, etc. The ISTA 3 series includes ISTA 3A, ISTA 3B, ISTA 3E, ISTA 3F, ISTA 3H, and ISTA 3K.

　　ISTA 3A：Suitable for individual packages of up to 150lb (70kg) in mass shipped in packages, the test procedure divides packages into four types: standard, small, flat and strip. The test program including temperature and humidity pretreatment and lab environment temperature and humidity balance (packaging), temperature and humidity treatment (temperature and humidity environment of simulation in the process of transportation may experience), shock (fall, bridge type impact, impact, rotating edge drop, tilting), random vibration (with the top the top load and without load), low pressure vibration (mainly aimed at high altitude transport airtight packaging, liquid, powder, etc), leakage test (liquid) only.

　　ISTA 3B: suitable for through LTL (less-than-one carload transport, transport package, the test program including temperature and humidity pretreatment and lab environment temperature and humidity balance (packaging), temperature and humidity treatment (temperature and humidity environment of simulation in the process of transportation may experience), shock (fall, bridge type impact, focus on impact, rotating edge drop, tilting, cant impact), random vibration (with the top the top load and without load), simulated forklift operation.

　　ISTA 3E: applicable to packages shipped by one product, multiple products or packages placed on sliders or pallets, fixed together or shipped as a unit or through FTL, the program is a comprehensive simulation test of packages of the same product set. The test procedure includes temperature and humidity pretreatment (the temperature and humidity balance between the package and the laboratory environment), temperature and humidity treatment (the temperature and humidity environment that may be experienced during the simulation of transportation), impact (ramp impact, rotating edge drop), pressure resistance, random vibration (vibration time min= transportation distance Km÷8, recommended * long time 240min).

　　ISTA 3F: single packs for mixed pallet transport up to 100lb (45kg), usually from distribution centre (DC) to retail end.

　　ISTA 3H: for mechanical handling of products or packages in bulk transport containers

　　ISTA 3K: applicable to FMCG in European retail supply chain
