Project Introduction

　　ISTA 2B

　　ISTA2B is a partially simulated performance test procedure for single packages with a mass greater than 150lb(68kg). A single package placed on a visible slide or tray can be tested according to ISTA non-complete simulation test procedure 1E or ISTA integrated simulation performance test procedure 3E. The program simulates the effects of temperature and humidity, resistance to pressure, vibration and impact, does not simulate the actual transportation hazard environment, may be inconsistent with the packaging rules of the transportation company, can be used to compare the performance of different packaging and product design.

　　The ISTA2B test procedure is as follows:

　　Temperature and humidity pretreatment: the transportation unit is placed in the laboratory temperature and humidity environment for 6 hours to achieve the temperature and humidity balance between the transportation unit and the laboratory.

　　Temperature and humidity treatment: combining the temperature and humidity environment that the transportation unit may experience and the limit temperature and humidity of the product, temperature and humidity treatment conditions are selected for temperature and humidity treatment.

　　Compression resistance: there are two methods of test: machine compression and counterweight compression, one of which can be chosen. The number of stacking layers and compensation coefficient of the transportation unit are taken into account in the test pressure. The compensation coefficient is a coefficient introduced by taking into account factors other than test, such as temperature and humidity, stacking method, and long time coding.

　　Vibration: there are two methods of vibration: fixed displacement vibration and random vibration, one of which can be chosen. The test results of the two methods are not comparable. ISTA2B has two vibration test procedures, the first after the stress test and the last after the impact test. The same vibration type can be selected for the two vibrations, or different vibration types can be selected.

　　Impact: impact has drop and bevel impact can be selected and rotating edge drop.
