　　ISTA 3E

　　ISTA3E is used for packages shipped by one product, multiple products or packages placed on sliders or pallets, secured together or shipped as a unit or through FTL. FTL means vehicle transportation.

　　ISTA3E evaluated packages in terms of temperature and humidity, impact, compression and vibration. Temperature and humidity preprocessing the transportation unit to be measured is placed in the laboratory environment for 12h for temperature and humidity balance. Temperature and humidity treatment is optional in ISTA 3E,customers can choose appropriate temperature and humidity conditions to adjust according to specific circulation environment. After temperature and humidity treatment, shock, compression and vibration tests are carried out, which is a great challenge to the performance of the package. Impact testing is a major challenge to the strength and cushioning of packages, including bevel impact and rotary edge drop. The impact velocity of bevel impact is required to be at least 1.2m/s, and the four vertical sides of the package will be tested separately. The strength and stability of the package were evaluated by the rotary edge drop. The height of the drop was related to the quality of the package. The compression test evaluates the compression capacity of the package, and the pressure value of the test is related to the quality, size, number of stacking layers and number of composite layers of the package. The vibration test simulates the vehicle transportation of the package. The damage of the vibration test to the transport unit is comprehensive, such as the strength of the package, the damping capacity of the package, the energy absorption capacity of the buffer material, and the anti-vibration fatigue capacity of the transport unit. In the process of vibration testing, multiple vibration points of the whole transport unit will be excited and affect each other simultaneously, which is a powerful damage to the transport unit. It may lead to deformation of metal parts, relaxation of fasteners, fracture of plastic parts, failure of electronic components, etc. ISTA 3E gives the relationship between the vibration time and the transport distance. The vibration time (min) is equal to the transport distance (km) divided by 8. The recommended vibration time is not more than 240min.
